How to: Share a local printer on the network.
Solution:
Click the 'Start' button, select 'Settings', and select 'Printers'. Double-click the 'Add Printer' icon and follow the 'Add Printer Wizard' directions. Right-click the printer icon and select 'Sharing...'.
1) Install a local printer:
a) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
b) Select 'Settings' and select 'Printers'. (The 'Printers' window appears.)

c) Double-click the 'Add Printer' icon. (The 'Add Printer Wizard' dialog box appears.)

d) Click 'Next'.
e) Select the 'Local Printer' radio button and click 'Next'.
f) Do one of the following:
1] Select from the list of available printers:
a] In the 'Manufacturers' list box, select the appropriate manufacturer.
b] In the 'Printers' list box, select the appropriate printer model.
2] Use the manufacturer's disk:
a] Click 'Have Disk...'. (The 'Install From Disk' dialog box appears.)

b] Type the path to the disk in the 'Copy manufacturer's files from' drop-down list box.
c] Click 'OK'.
d] If prompted, select a printer from the 'Printers' list box.
g) Click 'Next.'
h) If prompted, select the appropriate printer port from the 'Available ports' list box.

i) (Optional) Type a name for the printer in the 'Printer name' box.

j) To set the printer as the default printer for Windows 95, select the 'Yes' radio button.
k) Click 'Next'.
l) If you do not want to print a test page, select the 'No' radio button.
m) Click 'Finish'.
n) If prompted, insert the appropriate Windows 95 diskette or CD-ROM and click 'OK'.
o) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Close' to exit the 'Printers' window.
2) Install printer sharing:
a) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
b) Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'. (The 'Control Panel' window appears.)

c) Double-click the 'Network' icon. (The 'Network Properties' dialog box appears.)

d) Click the 'Configuration' tab.
e) Click 'File and Print Sharing...'. (The 'File and Print Sharing' dialog box appears.)

f) Select the 'I want to be able to give others access to my files' check box.
g) Select the 'I want to be able to allow others to print to my printer(s)' check box.
h) Click 'OK' and click 'OK' again. (The 'System Settings Change' dialog box appears.)
i) Click 'Yes' to restart the computer. (The computer restarts.)
3) Share the printer:
a) In the 'Control Panel' window, double-click the 'Printers' icon. (The 'Printers' window appears.)
b) Right-click the appropriate printer to share and select 'Sharing...'. (The '<printer> Properties' dialog box appears, where <printer> is the name of the selected printer.)
c) Select the 'Shared As' radio button and type a name for the printer in the 'Shared Name' box.
d) Click 'Add...'. (The 'Add Users' dialog box appears.)
e) In the left list box, select the desired computer name and click 'Full Access'. (The computer name appears in the right list box.)
NOTE 1: To give all users access to your printer, select 'The World' and click 'Full Access'.
NOTE 2: Repeat step 3)e) to allow more users to access your printer(s).
f) Click 'OK' and click 'OK' again.
4) In the 'Printers' window, the 'File' menu and select 'Close'.
